MOTHER TONGUE LANGUAGES & STORIES

We teach mother tongue languages such as Luo, Luganda and Kiswhaili.  These languages are widely spoken in East Africa.   The language are taught to children and young people who came over here when they were very young and to those who were born here.  We teach them how to listen to African folk stories, read, write, sing and play games in the languages.

This helps them very much to understand their backgrounds and appreciate their own cultures.  It helps them to learn and enjoy cultural activities activities such as games, dance and music

The folk stories helps them to learn their histories, morals and discipline.  They can also be formed into a drama.  Here is an example of the story you can link to.
