ARTISTS IN EXILE

Welcome

Artists in Exile workshopArtists in Exile is a production company aimed at creating a diversity of innovative artistic projects connected to themes of dislocation, migration flow and sharing space. The company, founded by Caryne Chapman Clark in September 2000, was originally a membership organisation of professional artists from around the world (actors, directors, writers, visual artists and film makers), based at The Riverside Studios in London.

For four years until May 2004, it served as a link between non-refugee artists and artists who had been forced into exile, providing a ‘creative home’ where members were able to find a voice to create powerful new work aimed at reaching as broad an audience as possible.

From these roots and still inspired by the same goals, Artists in Exile, no longer a membership organisation, has evolved into a company that initiates and produces new arts projects for a variety of venues.
